Lots of Dancing

Just a couple silly pictures first.  :)

The boys went to a break dance battle that their instructor organized, and of course they participated and had loads of fun.  I took mostly video footage, but here are a couple meager photos that a got.  BTW, the girls at the battle were amazing...they had so much style and creativity in their moves!

Jacob got RED hair this time!

The boys attended an international hip hop dance convention in León, Spain (northwestern part of the country).  They traveled all night by train (8 hours) to get there, had a few hours sleep in the hotel when they arrived, then off they went for a full day of dancing until 10:30 at night.  The next day was 12 hours of continuous dance classes, and the next was a half day with competitions afterwards.   Of course, the nights were spent with their friends in the hotel rooms having fun until 4:30 every morning.

Ray and I took a flight to León, stayed in the same hotel but separately, and during the day either hung out at the dance event or (most often) explored around town.

Being an international dance event, the classes were all in English, and most (if not all) of the instructors were from the United States.  They had some well known dancers as the instructors, so the boys were thrilled.  Here are a few photos of the dance sessions.

León is a pretty and historic city.  Here are some photos from our wanderings around town.
Again, sorry about the quantity, but they all have something a little different to show...

I tried to research a little, but I did not find out what this statue is...

See the bull in the middle of the window?  All the windows had different designs in the center.

The sitting statue on the right is Gaudí, the famous Barcelona artist and engineer.  He is seated here looking towards a building he designed, which is unusual to find outside of Catalonia.

 It's a water fountain...

I had to include all three angles of this statue...

This was not special for this particular day...it changed every day with the current date, of course.

Dance friends hangin' together...

At the competition, Los Majos, the crew from their studio that competed this year,
won first place...hooray!!  (They are in black on the left.)

It was a great end to a fun weekend!
