Mom and Dad arrive!

BEFORE Mom and Dad arrived, we attended a couple fun events:

First was the Red Bull break dance battle competition.  The boys' break dance teacher, Artis, was one of the judges.  He is a SUPER great guy, as well as a great break dancer (of course).  The boys are learning lots about break dance style from him this year.  Each week they have one private class with him, as well as a couple other group classes with him.  I even take one of the classes with them!  It's quite fun, and Artis is a very "chill" and encouraging teacher.

Each of the three judges did some breakdancing for the audience...this is Artis.

The announcement of the winner...the guy on the left won.

The other event was a HUGE rival soccer (football!) game between Barcelona and Real Madrid.  Ray researched and discovered that they make a certain number of tickets available online at a specific hour the day before the game.   So he woke up that morning and got "in line" online.  I will pass on telling the long story of purchasing tickets, but he ended up getting two good seats and one seat in the nosebleed section, and then there were no more available.  So the boys took the good seats, Ray took the nosebleed seat, and I stayed home.  :(  I knew the three boys would enjoy the game the most, so it was fine to have a few hours at home on my own.

Below, the PACKED Metro on the way to the game.  On the way home it was even more crammed!

MOM & DAD ARRIVE!

We had been anxiously awaiting their arrival for quite some time.  Hooray, they are here!

Here we are at La Boqueria, the famous market that I have mentioned several times in these blogs.
Always an eye feast and fun experience for our visitors.

After the market and eating lunch, we sought out this recommended doughnut shop...quite fancy!

We have to admit, though, the kronuts (cross between a croissant and a doughnut) were not very good.  The doughnuts were better, with interesting combinations (mango and bavarian cream, peanut butter and jelly, etc.).

Up next...our vacation with Mom and Dad to Andalucía and Morocco!

  1. O.K. I'm waiting with bated breath to see shots of the desert, camels, tent camping, and wild monkeys!
